Bathgate Athletic was formed in June 2008 and entered to play in the Lothian and Edinburgh Football League, Edinburgh West Division. We started training in July and managed to bring together a team just in time for the start of the season in august. We now train twice a week, once at Bathgate academy for a fitness session with Experience Exercise and once at St Kentigern’s academy in Blackburn for football training. We play our games on a Saturday afternoon, normally with 2pm kick-off and our home pitch is the meadow park in Bathgate.

In our first season we were sponsored by the V bar in Bathgate. Bathgate Athletic and the V Bar both stressed the importance of working together and developing the relationship between the football club and the pub. As part of the deal the Bathgate Athletic agreed to use the pub after both home and away matches which the V Bar will provide food and have 2/3 fundraising events per year. In return the V Bar purchased us our first set of strips at the start of the season which was very much appreciated.

Everyone at Bathgate Athletic would like to thank Evelyn and Gary of the V Bar for their support and the club would have never got off the ground if it hadn't been for there input.

As of the start of the season in 2009 the club entered a second team into the newly formed Lothian and Edinburgh Sunday Section. So we now have two teams running Saturday and Sunday.
